Any Pot Users?

Not that kind of pot, fortunately, I have never needed to go there. I’m talking about a Neti-Pot. I have been suffering with sinus problems for the past two days and several people have recommended everything from Bragg Apple Cider Vinegar to this little miracle worker. This thing has received some great reviews and success stories. Not sure where I can buy one, but I know I can get it online. What can’t you buy online? Are you a pot user or do you know anyone who has used a Neti-Pot. When I get one, I’ll report back!

I live in beautiful South Florida and there is ALWAYS! something in bloom that I’m allergic to.
I love my Neti-pot but I’d gotten away from using it with all the traveling I’d been doing.

I found mine in my local health food store, and I bought the last one they had in stock at the time.

I saw Dr. Oz on Oprah talking about it and got one for my husband who suffers terribly with allergies to dust mites. He is a BIG believer in his Neti-Pot and uses it religiously every night. It has helped him a bunch! I got his at Kroger in the over the counter drug section where the sinus medication is … it was $14.

I can’t believe how many people have heard of it. I’ve been asking around and getting a lot positive feedback. I hope it helps. This has been the longest I have been bothered by my sinuses. I do tend to keep my house pretty warm, I hate being cold.

I didn’t catch that Oprah episode, but someone told me they saw it being used on there. I wonder how long ago was this? Glad it works for your husband, I’m hoping to find the same relief.

Oh my 2 1/2 months? I would rip my head off after the first full week. This one came out of no where for me. I just woke up with a big head and a little nose, unable to breath. I’ll post my results here tomorrow.
I love my neti pot! I’ve had it for several months now and use it several times a week. I wish I had time to do it everyday, though, as I suffer from indoor allergies and asthma resulting from those allergies. Using the pot makes everything better for a good long time and I swear I feel like I can only breathe fully after using it.

I bought my Neti Pot last week. I’ve always had allergies and my eyes had been excessively watering. I saw the original airing of the Neti Pot on Oprah a few months ago and had wanted to buy it. I then saw a recent follow-up (where the original girl from the demo and one of Oprah’s staffers sang its praises). So, I bought one last week. I absolutely love it. Instantly, I could feel a difference in my sinus area. After a couple of days, I noticed that my eyes had significantly decreased watering (apparently using the Neti helps clean out tear ducts).
Right after using it, you will notice that you will feel the need blow your nose a few times. Unlike some folks on the web, who claimed to see a lot of gunk come out, I just had a lot of watery mucus. It made me feel better though. I definitely suggest this, for preventative use, but also to mechanically clean out your nasal passages…it definitely can’t hurt to do it.
Hello to Binary and Neti
I found a Neti-Pot at a health food store. I did find one also at Wal-Greens, but it was plastic looked like someone took it out the box. I didn’t buy it out of fear it was used and there was only one left. I just finished my 2nd Neti-Pot treatment and immediately it opened up my passage way. I need a few more treatments before I’m in the clear. It does help and I need some practice with tilting my head. I’ll do it 2 times tomorrow, once in the morning and then at night.
I can’t believe, in jumping around your awesome blog, that I just posted a comment saying I’m terrified of giant eggs, and now I have to say that I’m scared to use the Neti-Pot and 5,000 saline powder packets I just bought. I’ve heard great things about it, but the thought of pouring water down (up?) my nose makes me shiver uncontrollably. Good luck!

JD thanks for stopping by. The Neti-Pot is great. I have not used it everyday and it takes some getting used to, but it does work.

Cardiogirl, pull out that Neti-Pot and start pouring! It does open up your sinuses rather quickly. Hope you get well soon!

Ok I bought one today and used it twice. I think I am doing it wrong. SOmeone help me!! How do you do it. I get the salty water running down my throat. Is that normal? Also blew my nose and my right ear felt like I blew it out? Normal? I have had sinus headache for two days. Alsways on the left side, congestion and a little ear ache too. any suggestions, advice would be helpful.
Hi Jeanette..the first few times takes some getting used to. I think the trick is really in the tilting of the head, if it’s even slightly off, I think that makes a difference. The YouTube video above is really helpful and it does help. No the running water down your throat is not normal. To blow your nose afterward is…but nothing should come out of your ear. Tilting of the head….
