I was reading a blog I frequent and Kathy, like myself, doesn’t normally do memes, but she decided to give this one a try and said if any fellow blogger wanted to join the weirdness to consider themselves: tagged! So I’m it!
I couldn’t think of seven weird things about me, but here goes:
I iron almost everything. (Underwear, socks, pillow cases, undershirts)
I will not eat meat off the bone. (I can live without meat)
My hangers must match and all have to be facing the same way. (Just crazy)
I’m afraid of butterflies and moths. (My brother chased me with peacock feathers when I was younger)
I can move my nostrils to mimic a beating heart. (Not weird, fascinating!)
I talk to myself. (I do not answer myself)
I think I’m normal. (I’m not weird, I’m right!)
This was a difficult list to put together, so I won’t tag you, but if you want to leave a comment and share something weird about yourself, please do!
I love facts, quotes and statistics. Gee, I never said that out loud before, have I? I sound boring, but since we all know that is not true, I won’t defend my geekdom. Anywho, I’m sharing a video and some written word facts I found on the web. Enjoy!
It once was law to say “God bless you”. During the 6th Century, it was customary to congratulate people who sneezed because it was thought that they were expelling evil from their bodies. During the great plague of Europe, the Pope passed a law to say “God bless you” to one who sneezed.
The word Christmas means “Mass of Christ.” Today we know that Christ was not born on the 25th of December. The date was chosen to coincide with the pagan Roman celebrations honoring Saturnus (the harvest god) and Mithras (the ancient god of light), a form of sun worship.
A cow has no upper front teeth. A cow has four stomachs. A healthy cow gives about 200,000 glasses of milk in her lifetime. Cows release some 100 million tons of hydrocarbon annually - by releasing gas. Twelve cows are known as a “flink.” The average lifespan of a cow is 7 years.
The muscle that lets your eye blink is the fastest muscle in your body. It allows you to blink 5 times a second. On average, you blink 15,000 times a day. Women blink twice as much as men.
Korea has a Boot Camp Cure for Web Obsession? Read the story here. Are you kidding me? I’m not sure how long I can go without getting logging on to the www. I tried it for a day and it was torture. All I did was walk back and forth past my computer, winking at it saying I can’t wait to turn you on.
If I had to, I could probably go for a day, maybe even two, without it, but there can’t be a computer with internet access within reach or I’m on it. At home, I turn off one computer and go get on another.
I thought about not getting on tomorrow and I got scared. I’ll limit my activity, but I’m getting on the web! Humph!
What about you? How long?
FYI:
The internet is a network infrastructure that connects millions of computers together.
The world wide web is a way of accessing the internet through http or hypertext transfer protocol language.
Thinking Out Loud wants to know about you. Describe yourself in one word. If you have a blog, please leave a link. I will add my favorite one word description to my blog roll. Thanks!
Have a nice day!
