I’m new to Word Press and have come across some really great plug-ins I’ve seen on other blogs. The video tutorial below will show you how to change your permanent links (from this ?p=144 to this: word-press-quick-tip) in Word Press. The title of your post makes for a better description than ?p=144. Don’t use the categories text as suggested, instead use postname. The video shows you how: Options, Permalink, Custom field and paste this in /%postname%/ instead. I’m passing this along, and a few other links below, just in case anyone else feels like me, the last to know.
Add custom smilies to your posts and comment box. This plugin was first released in 2005 and it is now updated to be compatible with WordPress 2.3.2.
I love this plug-in! How many times do you wish you could go back and edit your comment because of an error? Well Edit Comments XT makes it possible. Edit Comments XT is a simple WordPress plugin that allows commenters to edit their own comments. The edits required to make this plugin work are fairly extensive, so if you don’t know what you are doing, I wouldn’t bother.
Custom Comments. This is really cool. Instead of saying “18 comments” you can customized it to say “18 Great Thinkers Said”. Compatible with WordPress 2.1.
And lastly, if you upgraded to WordPress 2.3.1 and have noticed that you have not been receiving notification of comments on your blog, here’s how to fix it!
These are just four of my favorites for now. Hope you find them useful. If you have one you want to share, drop a link. That’s all folks!

I literally stumbled upon this site and I think it’s so cool. I love talk radio and if you ever wanted to have your own Internet radio show, this could be the way to go. I did listen to a few shows briefly and no experience is required, even a caveman can do it. No disrespect to radio personalities, I love you guys. I think I’ll listen to a few more shows tomorrow. Check it out for yourself.
From their website: BlogTalkRadio is the social radio network that allows users to connect quickly and directly with their audience. Using an ordinary telephone and computer hosts can create free, live, call-in talk shows with unlimited participants that are automatically archived and made available as podcasts. No software download is required. Listeners can subscribe to shows via RSS into iTunes and other feed readers.
Do you have a show on Blog Talk Radio? If so, please send me a link. (I did bookmark a blogger’s radio show a few days ago, I wonder if she’s on the same network?) Be back…….

Have you made the switch? I find myself using Firefox’s browser more and more these days. In fact, I don’t even open IE unless, out of habit, I click on it by mistake or it automatically opens because I haven’t selected Firefox as my default. Something weird.
I remember when Firefox was new and everybody was making the switch from I.E. to a “safer” browser, but I wasn’t ready for that kind of change. For a while I dabbled with Netscape, also finding that to be a pretty cool browser, but eventually went back to I.E.
I like my Firefox browser and although I’m still new to some of its features and add-ons, I think I’ve found a winner! I know I’m a little slow, but eventually I get there. Too, I feel it’s time for a change, but I’m not ready to make Google my home page, just yet. I still love Yahoo!
Which browser are you currently using?

The funny and sad thing about this video (had issues embedding this) is that we could be related. I understand a slow internet connection or not having one at all. Just mention the word “dial-up” around me, and I start to have heart palpitations. I understand computer problems and drives that just stop working. He keeps saying he has a presentation in 10 minutes, I think he already gave it. I feel his pain.
Do you think it’s real or staged?
