Five Little Bits Meme

Sullicom tagged me for a meme and thanks for letting me know or this would have gone completely over my head. Anywho, here goes my Five Little Bits (About Me) Meme…

1. I thought about becoming an actress because I can cry on cue. I’m very sensitive, not to the point where I can’t be rubbed the wrong way, for how else will I be polished, but I’m an emotional being. I have been known to weep over commercials, comic strips, Little House on the Prairie, songs, TV shows, the news or anything that touches my heart. Hey, somebody has to balance the universe for those who refuse to work up an emotion. No one would ever suspect I’m a closet crier, people who don’t know me think I’m serious and strong when in reality, I’m soft and pink.

2. I had an idea for an invention that never came to fruition called Life Guard, you can read about it here. I partnered with a company who helped me market the idea from the USA to China and not one bite. Kids are still being left in the car to die. Oprah did not return my emails, but I still watch her show anyway. I was called to do several radio interviews to introduce my product to the public but ended up doing just one show. I’m still paying off the debt incurred from this “invention” and once I do, I will be debt free.

3. I have this unusual ability to make myself dream about whatever I want and to know that I’m dreaming and change the outcome if I don’t like it. It doesn’t happen on command and sometimes it takes a few days for the dream to come, other times it’s like popping in a DVD of my choice. I also use this ability to find things that I have lost by dreaming where I may have left it. It’s kind of creepy and fun at the same time and once I was able to feel touch in my dream. Can anybody else do this? In random dreams most times I’m being chased by Godzilla or some big monster destroying stuff; maybe this bothers me because he’s making a mess or I run out of fear of being eaten. I do not follow astrology nor can I dream the Mega Million numbers. Sorry.

4. As a child when mom would take us to large arenas, I would always get lost (at least that’s what mom says), but even at a young age, I had sense enough to find the lost and found, wait to be picked up and not cry about it! This happened many times and she always came back for me. Today, I have no sense of direction. If my block wasn’t square, I would get lost going around the corner. I’ve been lost so many times, the places now look familiar and I’m proud to point out: I was lost here!

5. I freaking cheated on this meme. I had to go to my ‘about me’ page on my website to find out about me. How freaking lame is that? The thing is, I don’t like talking about myself when asked, the inquiry feels like a test I’m going to fail because I don’t have the answers. I don’t like spotlight and yes, I have a website and a blog, but I never thought anyone would read it. I was just trying to find myself and always had a place to go. I’m comfortable in the back seat, in the corner or sitting next to the fly on the wall, listening. I feel it’s an overwhelming question that will be answered over time and maybe I rather not respond like I’m under the time constraints of a Final Jeopardy answer. Maybe I’m full of crap.

Thanks Sullicom for tagging me. This was a lot of fun, I told some secrets! My future ex-therapist would be so proud that I opened another window. If you’re reading this: tag, you’re it.

That dream stuff sounds kinda cool. I wish I could that and if not that then I wish I could for once finish a dream. I hate loose ends!

I’m directionally-challenged, too! Maps don’t help. And I love your #5! I feel similar in that I’d rather be a fly on the wall, yet I have a blog and “put it all out there.” Ironic, isn’t it?

    Interesting read!

jillian, give the dream thing a try. there is ‘nothing special’ about me. just keep something on your mind then tell your brain what to do with the info. let me know if it works.

kathy, i’m right there with you on being lost. i used to get upset about it, now i just hope i have gas and my mobile phone. i was lost last week in my own town! i need a GPS.

robert, you’re a poet, all poets are closet criers. we “feel” words. i’m no poet but i write poetry, close enough. we’re in touch with our feelings.

:) well that was an interesting read

I’m a little jealous. Sometimes I *think* I can prompt what I dream about.. other times, its a no go

Yes I can do the dream thing and I thought I was the only one, I just summed it up as me not really sleeping. We sound so alike…I’m very private and yes I have blog for everyone to see, and again I thought no one would read it until one day I had readers and I actually cared about their opnions. All the criers out there, we’re all criers, but Natural I give you the trophy - you can cry on cue, WOW! More meme’s about you, please, LOL?

Thanks JEMi, this one just poured out of me, I had fun with it. I always tell people to give the dream thing a try. I sent you an email..contact me any time.

Tondy, isn’t it fun and weird. I do some weird things in my dream because I know it’s fake. lol. Well I had help with the crying thing, I didn’t learn that on my own. The workings of Life Guard can only be shared by signing a confidentiality agreement. I have no more money to market it though, so I don’t know what will happen.

I am jealous that you can dream whatever you want! And I am directionally dysfunctional myself. I’ve lived in this city my whole life, yet when I drive downtown… I get lost. Fun post!

Corrina give the dream thing a try. Maybe I just have a lot on my mind. I don’t feel so bad about being DC..if I stay on my paths, I’m okay. Once I gave directions to a couple coming in to sign their will, we never heard back from them for a while. lol

  11. 11Steve

Thanks for playing. It was fun finding out more about you. I laughed when I saw your item about getting lost as a kid. I was literally leashed as a toddler for the same reason, although from what I understand, it wasn’t me who got lost. My parents frequently thought I was with the other and when they discovered neither had me, they returned to the last spot they’d been with me and there I stood. Not sure why that required me to wear the harness, but toddlers don’t get a vote.

Hey Steve, thanks for the tag…as mentioned I had fun with this one. See you had sense enough not to move from that spot too. I should have been harnessed.

  13. 13Don

the dream thing is cool; i have been able to do it at times and so have a number of my friends.
We were ‘amazed by our power’ but what it is down to is your brain is sleeping in sections so you have temporal awareness during REM sleep.
you would notice it seems it doesnt last for long but in actual fact a few hours would have passed or a few split seconds before waking. it all depends on what state of REM you are in.
i suggest you google psychology and sleeping patterns. i know i found it interesting when i was doing it for A levels

  14. 14Natural

That’s great Don, I’m glad someone else can do this. I’m very aware of what’s going on in my dreams, I even reason with myself when it comes to making decisions. Funny. I’ll have to look into the psychology and sleeping patterns…I never cared, just enjoyed.
