Free Stuff!
Free Stuff March 19th, 2008Do you believe in free stuff or do you think everything has a price? I always have these “arguments” with my friends who say “nothing is free” and I say maybe not, but it’s free, to me.
I do tend to walk into stores asking for samples of stuff and I get them. I guess that “sample” was not free because of the possible cost associated with it, but that’s not always the case. Sure things cost money to make, but I love it when I don’t have to spend money and still get the item.
Anywho, I found a great exercise video through Saving Advice. I’ve received many free things in the past through this site, including a 1 yr. magazine subscription to a fitness magazine. Exercise TV is offering a free abs video on their website. I, too, like free stuff. And if not free, I like deals. Two of my favorite stores are Ross Dress For Less and TJ Maxx. Although it’s necessary to double check for flaws, the hunt for a bargain is half the fun.

I love free stuff…just have to be sure it’s truly free. It’s like getting “free” tickets to a basketball game, but having to spend $100 on parking, food and whatever. I still believe some things are free, to me.
Ross Dress for Less? Sounds like a store I would like. Never heard of that place. Do they sell shoes?

Everyone likes FREE stuff …. but it shud b of some useful for us otherwise it will b kept as a useless thing in a corner of the side

Who doesn’t love free stuff? And it doesn’t always have to “cost” you something.
A few weeks ago I offered to pay postage (41 cents) for a ladies letter because she couldn’t find the change and I didn’t want to charge her credit card for merely 41 cents. Her reaction was not one of happiness.. she didn’t say thank you. Instead she created a scene and insisted she go out to her car and find the change somewhere. I was shocked.

I am a sample slave..I hit evryone I cam..Costco is great for that…a few stops while wandering and voila free lunch…:)))

Well - most blogs are free which is good. With other things, I sometimes wonder if there’s a catch. I love the free samples too, but I suppose they give you them so you’ll buy a full size product.

Luxury Cars, true that. Free to me is good, as long as I keep it free and it’s not clutter.

I think samples are the ‘evil-est’ things on Earth: They tempt you to return for more, only that you have to offer your wallet the next time. But then again, having said that, I guess everything that’s free’s the same - they give you greater exposure at no monetary cost.
Like you said, blogs are free to read; yes, they offer different views too.

Adrian, for some reason I can just read your reply with the tone in which you probably are writing it in and I have to laugh. I guess free can be the dangling carrot. 98% of the time when I go into a store, I already know I’m going to buy something, that’s why I’m there, but while there I do ask for anything free. My last free item: I got a Wii safety strap. I don’t have a Wii. lol

Nameless, I don’t know what’s wrong with me. I usually go into a store smiling and chatting with the cashier and then it just comes out. Starbucks is supposed to come to my job and give us free samples of their coffee. I don’t even like StarBucks, but I asked.

Freebies are very popular and are being used instead of advertising. If you like it you will buy it & will also tell your friends about the product. There is nothing more persuasive than ‘word of mouth’ advertising!

Yes, there are two words that always get peoples attention, one of them is “free” and the other one is, well….(cough cough)…both of these things might end up costing you something. lol
