Love is…

Wasn’t there a commercial out there several years ago that said: Love means never having to say you’re sorry. I think it was
for jewelry…boy were they wrong and hopefully no longer in business (that’s misleading advertisement)! Love better not only say I’m sorry, love better show I’m sorry.
Of course, love means something different to everyone and I’m interested to know how you would finish one of the two statements, or both, below.
I forget where I heard this definition, but it’s one I use often: “Love is not an emotion, but an action”. Love motivates one to act for the benefit of someone else. It doesn’t have to be romantic love. Do you have a favorite quote that explains what:

I’m sure that jewelry store got lots of business from people who had done their loved ones wrong. The bigger the wrong, the bigger the jewel.
Love is being willing to donate an organ in order to let another life continue, even if it means your life may be in jeopardy.
