That is such an excellent observation. The credit card companies are trying to create a positive association between the card and monopoly from young.

In my opinion knowing how to use credit well is an asset. Many people are plagued by credit card debts and have trouble managing their credit. If you teach your children the value of money, even in a cashless society they will be better prepared to manage their credit in the future. If we move to a society with out cold hard cash, everyone would have to learn how to manage their credit better, not just children. Personally, I wouldn't buy the new cashless Monopoly as I am a fan of the original.

Peace!

I have to say I'm with Monopoly on this one - the sooner people lean how to deal with credit the better. Also, will cash always be around? I've already heard of a UK school where kids will be/are paying for school meals using a thumbprint recognition system - another form of cashless transaction.

My 2 cents

I'm with you.........

Teaching a child to use a credit card is no better than handing him a gun IMO. Thanks for sharing.
