Many people are plagued by credit card debts and have trouble managing their credit. If you teach your children the value of money, even in a cashless society they will be better prepared to manage their credit in the future. If we move to a society with out cold hard cash, everyone would have to learn how to manage their credit better, not just children. Also, will cash always be around? I've already heard of a UK school where kids will be/are paying for school meals using a thumbprint recognition system - another form of cashless transaction.
