My So-Called Life

Before I start rambling, I have to say thanks to my daughter Victoria for filling in for me on Wednesday, thanks sweetie. I see she has some responses to get to and I’m glad you all enjoyed her post. She keeps me laughing.

I’m in the process of trying to get myself a little more organized, which is kind of hard to do when you feel like you have Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. I started taking vitamins again and for a few days they were working, but then I slumped back into the feeling of needing a daytime nap. Maybe I need iron pills.

My “diet” just isn’t working. I really wasn’t on a diet, I was eating the same foods, but less of it with exercise several times a week. Today is my weigh in, I wouldn’t be surprised if I was back where I started. A co-worker gave me the South Beach Diet book to read and out of curiosity I will, although I recently heard on my favorite radio show that our weight is already determined in our genetics. We may go up and down a few pounds, but our weight is going to be what it is, not what we want. I still plan to drop 15lbs and I have 3 months to do it.

In two weeks, my job is bowling for a charity and word got out that I was the competition. I used to be the competition, but I haven’t bowled on a regular basis in years. Being in a league just got too expensive, so if I go now, it’s for relaxation. I went bowling at lunch time twice this week, once to beat up on someone (we split two games) and the second time just for fun with a coworker. I sacrificed a few finger nails, but it was worth it.

I also misplaced my flash drive, which has me a wee bit concerned because I had copies of my manuscripts, client bills and other personal information, most not password protected. It’s kind of unlike me to lose something outside of the home, so I’m going to keep looking around the house. I bought a new flash drive and this one is attached to my key ring. Now all I have to do is keep up with my keys.

So, it’s been a productive week, I got a lot of things done, caught up on some reading, (I’m even listening to a book on tape..never thought I could get into that, however, nothing replaces holding a book in your hand, well almost nothing). I watched Jeopardy several times this week, watched some movies and stayed in bed a little longer. I’m working on my schedule though, I still need to keep up with my so-called life.

Chronic Fatigue Syndrome? If thats anything like MONO….I feel your pain!

My mother has been doing the Weight Watchers thing and she has lost almost 30 pounds. (Maybe you should look in to that?)

Or maybe I shouldnt be handing out any sort of unsolicited advice!

You can bowl eh? I suck at bowling, I’m an embarrassment really. I also hate breaking fingernails. We want to join a league, but I guess you have to be good… right?

Meleah Rebeccah, I thought of you whenI was writing this and after I read the symptoms of MONO, I was like, dang, I could have that. I know I’ve been going to bed early enough…can’t put my finger on it. I’ll just keep taking my vitamins. I’m even sleepy after exercise…I’ll get back to that this week. Weight Watchers, huh…Oh no, I take all unsolicited advice, lol, I’m open to knowledge. It’s not easy.

Jillian, I do okay. I can still crank out 200+, but I can also stink up the place and not even bowl my weight. If you want to bowl in a league, the best thing you can do is get your own bowl, those house balls suck. You don’t have to be good to join a league, there are different levels, some being more competitive than others. Give it a try and let us know. How’s the driving going, btw.

Welcome to the world of losing stuff -I lose stuff all the time and it’s so annoying. Well I hope you find your flasd drive. As for weight loss - when you’re really ready to lose it, you will. Have bowling, I wish I had tips for you but I have never bowled (can you imagine?)

I did feel the difference in the beginning after I took the vitamins Robert, but now my body is like okay, so what, you took a vitamin. I took a nap this afternoon and I feel great..now I just have to figure out how to incorporate naps into my work day and then I’m good to go! I saw a bumper sticker that said my drinking team has a bowling problem, let’s hope that’s not the case.

Tondy, I still can’t believe it. It has to be in this house, I just can’t imagine where. I remember the last place I saw my drive, which was in my laptop bag. Not there. I hate misplacing stuff. Yeah I will keep trying to lose a few pounds, even if I continue to fail and have set backs..that’s life, keep it moving, right. You have never bowled? I’m sorry, why? Okay one day this week, give it a try, let me know. It’s fun and frustrating at the same time.

Hope you’re feeling better soon! Sorry to hear about losing the flash drive, but kudos on getting a lot done. I lost 75lbs some years ago through exercise alone, but I didn’t like the attention it got me, so I went back up to where I’d started from. I’m much happier now. Good luck to you, however.

Me too Lana, that nap I had yesterday was a tremendous help. I’ll have to find a way to take more naps. Wow 75lbs! 15, maybe 20lbs should do it for me…I need to make better food choices for sure. I’ll get there.

Ahh, the driving is going much better. I kinda got the shifting down and I’m mastering backing up. I just need to drive a bit more so I can get more comfortable with the shifting…

That’s great to hear Jillian. It will become second nature once you get it and you won’t even know you’re doing it.
