Day of the Declaration of Independence of the United States

Today, the 241st anniversary of the Declaration of Independence is celebrated in this nation, when on July 4, 1776, it was announced, indicating the postulates on which the American Revolution was based and its purpose of detaching itself from British rule. However, it is necessary to remember that the first document of this nature was the Declaration of Mecklenburg, signed in North Carolina on May 20, 1775, which contained all the points that Jefferson would develop one year later, from national sovereignty to fight against tyranny and the way to reach the division of powers.

The Declaration of Independence of July 4 was a document drafted by the Second Continental Congress in Philadelphia, which proclaimed that the 13 North American colonies had defined themselves as thirteen new sovereign and independent states and would not recognize British rule. It is known that Abraham Lincoln made it a central piece of his rhetoric (like the Gettysburg speech of 1863) and its policies. Since then, it has become a well-known claim on human rights, as can be seen in:

“We hold these truths as evident: that all men are created equal; who are endowed by their Creator with certain inalienable rights, which include life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.” This Declaration of Independence inspired many other similar documents in other countries, including the Caribbean, as was the uprising of Carlos Manuel de Capsids in Cuba on October 10, 1868, initiating the Ten Years’ Revolution, with a view to the Declaration of Independence, which proclaims: “The island of Cuba cannot be deprived of the rights enjoyed by other peoples, it cannot consent to be said that it knows no more than to suffer. To the other civilized peoples, it is necessary to impose their influence to get out of the clutches of an oppressive barbarian of an innocent, enlightened, sensitive and generous people. ”

When the American Constitution was written in 1787, it was a consequence of the Declaration of July 4, and although it was not a perfect document, which originated the different amendments, over time it has remained in force and the nation has not suffered any oppressive system that has violated its fundamental freedoms. Cubans are suffering from a long-running dictatorship that oppresses the Cuban people and the solution is theirs. However, when the former US president resolved the restoration of diplomatic relations with the island, it is evident that it was an oxygenating gesture for the Castro regime, an aspect that the current president intends to rectify and demand from the dictatorship the fulfillment of human rights. President Obama shook hands with Rail Castro and President Trump to the people, and as indicated by Jorge Luis Garcia Pérez “Attunes”, a Cuban opponent and a courageous and patriotic path towards the recovery of freedom on the island: “El to have mentioned (Trump) the executions, the prison, the situation of human rights in Cuba, that speaks for itself … “,

In accordance with the conditions experienced by ordinary Cubans lacking the most elementary rights and under an oppressive regime, the Declaration of Independence read by Capsids that October 10, 1868, becomes valid again, because the civilized peoples play, as a coadjutant gesture, impose its influence to get the island out of that dictatorship.

Today the American people celebrate their homeland and under their heaven allow us to exercise freedom without any diminution and we live with the hope that our Cuban people will recover definitively its status as a sovereign, free and independent country and the dark night of Marxist socialism lose its existence on the island.
